How to add modeling compound to modeling menu?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to take a ICE modeling compound and add it to the main modeling menu such as under Modeling > Modify > Poly. Mesh and even better, under the context sensitive menus so you could use it just like a normal modeling tool?

hard way:
file->plugins->new command
pick menu you want
inject this code into execute part of generated script

create compound, export in user dir in compounds, add operator to menu, apply this operator to new object and error
