Any Ideas on how to keep the light from increasing/multiplying when using FG and hair? The light glow on the scalp is a bit out of control (Everything is really low-res for quick renders).
MR, sIBL, strands, and there is a version with xsi hair.
Strands/fg
xsi hair/fg

Re: Hair/strands/final gather - too much light generated @ scalp
hi there,
It seems that standard SI hair shader (whatever name it has for now), still supplies a plain color to FG, instead of full shading. You can use some of ray-switch shaders - just plug a plain lambert with some approximate color in FG port of ray-switch.
BTW if you're planning some higher hair counts, it would be very good idea to checkout the full setup first. At least with XSI 7.01 or 7.5, I've experienced a lot of problems with hair+FG in MR, mostly a famous 'trace additional FG points' and renders that take forever, crashes at 90% (even with enough memory), so on.
Also, hair shading, especially in MR, heavy rely on hair's count and density, transparency, FG settings. That is - only reliable 'preview' is a full setup.
cheers
