Hi guys (and gals?) !
I'm happy to announce the release of
emRPC4 version 4.0
The plugin got some serious polishing, here a list of the main new features:
- Motion Blur.
- Depth of Field.
- Ambient Occlusion.
- Global Illumination.
- Special emRPC4-Viewer within Softimage.
- Improved workflow.
- Improved performance.
- Improved memory usage.
- Improved support for strands.
- Many little fixes.
Below a screenshot of the release video "Cloudalypse" that I made for the occasion, as well as the video itself.
Take care,
Eric

Outstading!
In one video I read about workstation you use (two, a laptop and a desktop). The render time is referring to laptop or desktop?

Thanks !
The render times refer to the workstation.
It is however important to be aware of the fact that those render times I mention are the "time used for the rendering only" and nothing else. What I mean is that when you deal with large number of particles then there is some overhead (ICE must first process the data, then the data must be passed to the renderer and THEN rendering starts).

Eric, stunning work as usual, i love the updates and the effort you put into those plugins, the new Preview mode is something that show how good you are into making those stuff, i really liked it!
Autodesk should really hire you full time to keep developing those tools, i'm looking forward to get a copy soon!
Thanks again

Amazing. Especially considering you're a one man company

DOF will look cool, even though it will hurt to blur away millions of beautiful particles

Does "Current size" option work for particles? I have points with size of 1, but they are invisible on render. Only with option of custom size, particles are visible.
thank you.

Outstanding as always!
Is there any news you can release about the mysterious emVolume and emTree projects?
I'm praying for a great volume renderer every day...

We can neither confirm nor deny any rumors ;)
I am working on something but it is too soon for any news.
In a few months or so...
Cheers,
Eric

I try 4.0 version. It seems, that actual particle size doesn't work for me. Maybe i've lost something important.
Update: It seems, that there was some kind of bug,. Now everithing works. Thank You.

Perhaps your particle scale is zero. Make sure you set the "Scale" to something like (1,1,1). You can use a "Set Particle Scale" to do that.

Heh. The camera had scale (20,20,20)? that was the reason. By the way, how have You done such simulation, as on screenshot at the top? Very interesting shape.

Hi guys & gals,
just wanted to share a really nice work made by
Bloom Studio. About 90% of it was rendered with emRPC4.
It is a clip that was made for the Thinking Digital Ident 2011.
Lots of pretty atoms and handsome pixels
Take care,
Eric
