Extruding different faces long his normal

Post by Nizar » 25 Feb 2011, 01:13

Hope can you understood:
A friend of mine request me an help for an architectural modelling. He use modo for his works. One nice tool in modo is Bevel. It is different from SI Bevel, it is a combination of our bevel and our inset polygons tools.
Ok, my issue is about Inset polygons tool: Modo Bevel extrude polygons long his normal, instead Inset polygons tool extrude regards global coordinate. If I have a regular polygons mesh (like a square), I can extrude my polygons, then use scale tool on LOCAL coordinate, but if the polygons are, i. e., in a irregular room (with an "L" shape), this trick don't work properly.
Any idea about?

What is the difference between this and Push tool?

(fa un po' strano dover parlare con un altro italiano in iglese, ma visto che il forum è inglese... :)

Sometimes Push does not work but Move Normals always works for me.
