Re: Lagoa and Arnold
Well, apart from the obvious fact, that it shows Arnold to be shockingly fast, this video doesn't impress me much. That obvious speed is impressive, nonetheless, though. Now I'd like to see some "real-time" demonstration with some other shader setup...

Re: Lagoa and Arnold
Unfortunately this isn't possible for the moment, due to Arnold still being under Beta. All I can say for now, is that there's nothing scary about using Arnold and its setup.

Re: Lagoa and Arnold
I understand that & this wasn't meant to criticize Mark Schoennagel, who showed this only as sort of a teaser as part of a larger presentation (and who still is an Autodesk employee, AFAIK, not hired by solidangle). The thing I'd like to see now is some longer demonstration of the workflow, authorized or preferably authored by the friendly folks at solidangle to show us if all the viral rumors are true, not just teasing us some more...
From a PR standpoint it's undeniably true, solidangle shows us quite impressively, that you don't need strategic marketing to create a buzz & keep it going. ;)
