a little late, sorry, but here are some technical tests of the emFluid with Holger's shader:

Re: emFluid4 released
Hey all,
I'm new to Emfluid and I'm doing some test scene to get better understanding of this nice addon. I tried to emit from a grid with a weight map animated in ice with a turbulize node. I use emit data from points. Until I connect the grid emitter, the animated weight map works, but when I connect it to the EMfluid setup, the animation stops working, someone have an idea why it's reacting like that?
Thx
Doum

Hi Dominik,
have you enabled "Multiply Size by Scalar ICE Data" and chosen your weight map ? See attached picture.
Cheers,
Eric

Yep I've done this and it's emit using the weight map, the problem it's the animation on the weight map that woesn't work when i plug the geo emitter into the emit data from points.

Re: emFluid4 released
Hm, that's strange. This sounds more like a problem outside of emFluid. Could you send me a zipped scene file so that I can reproduce the issue ?

Hey Eric,
Is there a way to cache EMfluid to render with BA_fluid shader? I wanna use the renderfarm to render simulation and we only have one license of emfluid.
Thx

Re: emFluid4 released
Hi Dominik,
sorry, the current versions of emFluid4 does not support caching of the internal fluid data (which is needed for the rendering). It is planned to be implemented, but it will still take a while.
You therefore need to use a simulated emFluid4 for the rendering.
Cheers,
Eric

Re: emFluid4 released
thx for the answer Eric!
I'm just curious, with more license would it be stable to render on the farm without caching emfluid.
BTW I've take a look at the scene you scn back to me with the weightmap animated. I think the simulation was working and the weight was animated, but the simulation did not follow the weight map for the emission. I'm not sure so check it back when I'll have some time, I'll keep you in touch.

Re: emFluid4 released
yes, I am pretty sure it would be stable.

It seems, that there is no collision geometry port?
