Same for me. Sometimes I will know ahead of time, the anouncement date, sometimes I don't. Rest assured when something is ready to be announced Autodesk will announce it. :)

Okay, here's a question someone might be able to answer :-? :
will Mark Schoehnagel be joining the team at the IBC2010 and/or
will there be any Softimage (specific/related) presentations during IBC2010?
;))

Mark won't be at IBC, as he's part of the American Geo for Autodesk, and IBC is an EMEA show. So we don't fly people all over the place(unless there's some other reason) when we have local people to handle show duties. So, I will be at IBC. The 3D apps I specialise in are: Softimage, Maya, Motiobuilder and Mudbox.

I am not able to clarify our final schedule of demos and presentations, because I'm not managing that aspect. I believe the last finishing touches are being applied now. Stay tuned to the Area's IBC page for the latest info: http://area.autodesk.com/ibc2010

Great news!
Hope render channels will work properly with Architectural material, when mixing via layers ^:)^

Wow - looks like a great 'upgrade'! Thanks for the presskit, Luc-Eric.

• Lagoa Materials Multiphysics Simulation Framework
• ICE for artists — a new ICE module menu toolbar facilitates building common ICE effects: particles, deforms and kinematics. Using the menu structure, artists can see nodes and compounds connect automatically in the ICE Tree, and create or modify Lagoa Multiphysics materials and other preset effects.
• Stereoscopic 3D support — new stereo camera rigs for stereoscopic productions and in-viewport stereoscopic viewing of 3D scenes
• Softimage Composite — a high-performance, high dynamic range (HDR) compositor with support for stereoscopic production pipelines; Autodesk Softimage Composite will include advanced keying, color correction, tracking and 3D compositing tools and will be compatible with Autodesk Maya 2011 Composite and Autodesk 3ds Max 2011 Composite.
• Polygonizer operator — will help create smoother polygon meshes for liquids
• Maya nCache — Maya nCache format reading and writing will be supported in Softimage
• Autodesk MatchMover toolset— a high-quality professional camera tracker
• Other enhancements: new shader compounds, ray traced shadows for infinite lights, improved OpenGL sprites, the ViewCube functionality and two new real-time shader wizards

Was the in-viewport stereoscopic 'view' licensed from BenR?

This seems like we're getting almost all the features from a full Maya 2010 update for Free!! Thank you Autodesk!

no, no relation. it's a built-in feature.
