That said, you obviously raise some valid points, although I never believed in the "absolute and total" unification of MR across all three apps to begin with... ;)

yeah the problem is that beside the fact the 3 apps might be different, after a bit of research was my fault, they actually are the same, but i found out that Autodesk didnt implement all new features of mr 3.8, in fact you have to activate those stuff in maya and max by strings, they are missing in there too..

dont really pretend an unification but..when Mr 3.8 features come out i would expect to find them working in 3d package, and apparently they didnt include those features at all..so in the end..wonder whats new with mr 3.8 inside Softimage, just a better BSP2 implementation ant thats it, kinda disappinting

Its just a pointcloud with instanced shape - point light, and color attribute plugged into color port of soft light

In Python the "print" statement gets correctly redirected to "Application.LogMessage"...
