Yes, interesting how he says they plan to make the assets shareable with other applications. Is there going to be a "Maya Engine"?
To be pedantic, Maya is already an engine that could be loaded and used in other applications (maya in Library mode),
but Marcus is talking about the Bifrost engine, which is a procedural, multithreaded engine that is independent of Maya and could execute in any other apps.

And on the animation presentation, Warren said they are working on multithreading Maya entirely. Now that is interesting. He said the number 1 request is performance.

Haven't watch it, starting now! Looks good tho.

-- EDIT --

Damn ... the DD presentation would be cool but they can't show it.

It us funny how one of the people viewing tried to push out the info on Houdini. \:D/

Hey Bullit, just got a reply from Neil about that.
Neil Blevins (August 18, 2014, 1:02 am) Reply wrote: Yup, Max imported the texture with premultiplied alpha on, and mudbox had it off. It was a small error that can be easily fixed when loading the bitmap in max, but didn’t seem worth remaking the video to fix since it wasn’t central to the tutorial theme :)

Artur Leao started a movement to make AD bring Qt to Max interface. That might be nice and help fix some sh*t in Max.

A guy made a previz of what he would like. Kind of Maya like, I know, but I like it. Better than what Max has right now.

[offtopic]

You can already use Qt natively through Python+PySide within 3dsmax 2015 :)

That looks just horrible, reminds me year 2004 Linux apps. Qt UI will also make Max even more slower.

So, be careful with your wishes :>

I think the max ribbon and all recent UI is implemented in Qt. Autocad is now on the mac so they made cross platform ui component.
