I think this shows the power of FE the most. It's a rigger from Colorbleed http://www.colorbleed.nl/ studios playing with FE to imitate a feature he saw at the article from FXGuide about the Voodoo tech.

Re: Introducing Fabric50
Softimage wise, Fabric is the next version of ICE and its for free. So Soft community must celebrate Fabric 50.
Fabric alrdy killing competition. Autodesk trys to recreate something like Fabric but only for maya. They will put bifrost on more sections every upgr8 they will sell it in parts. Hear what the community says blah blah... Slow like always.
Fabric in the other hand is on ICE level plus 4 years of development. It became a hydra.
There is no room for AD to catch up with this thing. This is cross platform new language insane stuff.
Fabric team did all the hard job now all they need to do some revamp on interface.
And handle the crowds and the awesomeness.
Do Fabric plans to attract all simple users from all those 3D packages out there?
Should we expect a crazy cool community for the sharing of "compounds"?
Should we expect a market place for tools that worth paying for? (Studios alrdy writings tones of KL code.)
If AD says hey Fabric we want to buy you can you tell em gtf* for me pls... thnx

Re: Introducing Fabric50
I think its very much the way of the future.
The fabric 50 offer is a very bold move and hopefully they will maintain the momentum going forward. If the community gets stuck in and produces a whole lot of standalone stuff that can be found in a central repository I can see it flourishing.

Thus making a completely mind-exploding philosophic contrast with the company owning ALL the host applications in which FE runs.angus_davidson wrote:I think its very much the way of the future.

[...]
Including the *fastest* most straight-forward one (the bought & killed one) and the *only* other one left (the most awkward ever, despite all updates and additions layered on top it)
God I hope FE are secretly making a new DCC behind our backs. (which would involve a considerable amount of balls more than anything else)
(which would feature an apparently more real 'ICE' than the company that wasn't suppose to kill the original ICE along with the rest of XSI but who did so anyway)
