XSIBase login error

i found xsibase so outdated that sometimes makes me drop the wish to post there
idk what you guys are referring with the "amount of data", its almost all old stuff..barely usefull for anything.
I enjoy this website and hope everyone move here soon or later.
Or open donations and hire some web developer/coder to fix xsibase, as it is now is just frustrating and ugly looking.

I do not claim ive given this too much thought, so maybe you're right, Hirazi. In my mind, though, its just asking too much of individuals for a whole decade or two. Eventually the problems arise which would've been easily dealt with if a company was behind it.

AD is probably not the brightest example (honestly, im lost at how they got it so wrong), but there are others... Pixologic is doing great and Luxology seems quite supportive and involved with their customers as well... Priorities, i guess.

I fully agree that renewing the team after a while could help...
But then again, it's not always easy to find dedicated new mods... ;)

Does XSIbase even have an administrator anymore? That VES article from 2010 has been on the front page for almost 2 years.

My very personal 2 cents on the matter of front-pages (but this isn't necessarily official "si-policy"): front-pages look nice, they can give a forum a nice bookmarkable page before you descend into the forum dungeon. But: they need to be maintained, which costs extra time, energy and dedication. The moment a community stops maintaining their front-page zealously (as seems to have happened some (long) time back at xsibase), they might as well kill the front-page altogether. A good front-page might not always be truly noticed, a badly outdated front-page however can do damage to what you're trying to achieve. Such an outdated front-page gets way more exposure than the good updated one could ever hope to achieve.
But in the end: The community, in the end, isn't in it because of the front-page, but because of the forums, that are on offer.
Maintaining a forum as such already is hard work enough, maintaining a - in my view - relatively unimportant front-page just for "keeping up appearances" just means more work for the lucky few called admins and mods...

Oh I really don't care about the front page. But I'm under the impression that there is no one "in charge". Are the forums still being moderated? Everyone should just migrate here, that would be convenient. Even the name of "XSI" base is outdated.
