great stuff as usual Eric!

Only thing we can wish for this year is some kind of proper krakatoa/fumefx like volume shader for SI ;)

rob
Is emRPC not close to krakatoa? Not talking about the random seed groups it generates, but rather the shading with shadows/self shadows?

emRPC may be somewhat similar to Krakatoa... but personally I thing that latler is more advanced, unfortunately ;)

BTW: this year emRPC4 will see the daylight. Main new features: AO and GI.

ahhh.... but when?? It's not polite to tease... ;)

Eric, what happened to that wonderful emTree? plugin you were working on? Is that still being developed?

But SI is finally getting some serious plugins. I also cannot wait for Momentum 2 to play with :D

Yeah, Momentum 2.0 is absolutely "kick ass ^ 10", Helge's doing a terrific job on that tool !

emTree is on hold... maybe this year.

emRPC4.. hm, don't know, probably around March or April.

Cool!

You're keeping yourself busy ;)

Kudos on all your plugins, and I hope you sell a ton of them!!

Maximus: find the Uebertage 2009 videos, Eric is demoing it there. Think ICE tree instancing on steroids modeling tool.

The videos from the (German) Übertage event in 2009 can be found here, but it seems that the first two videos in that list, of which the emTree video is/was one, have been removed from the server. I just say this, so you don't have to search any further...

real volumes with emFluid4 and BA shaders..

Post by owei » 01 Apr 2011, 06:13

Hi there!

I just wanted to give a little update on the shader issue that was already discussed.
I had the chance to test emFluid4 v. 4.01 in conjunction with BA_Fluid/BA_volume and it looks quite promising.

The new emFluid4 release can be downloaded here:
http://www.mootzoid.com/wb/pages/softim ... fluid4.php
TRIAL MODE:
If you do not have a v4.0 license, then the Cell Size is fixed to 1.
DEMO SCENES:
The demo scenes are updated and there is a small demo with the BA shader
(emFluid4_v.4.01___Volume_Rendering_with_baVolume_01.scn)

Holger Schoenbergers shaders can be found here:
http://www.binaryalchemy.de/download/11 ... e_2011.zip
http://www.binaryalchemy.de/download/11 ... e_2010.zip

Have fun!

best,
oliver

Any idea what are the plans for this shader once it's out of alpha?
Will be it be packaged with emFluid4?
Will it be made available separately/only as part of a collection?

Hey origin,

Maybe I'm just getting old but I can't figure out how to hook that up. Can you post some screenshots? (render tree, ice tree)
