Re: an ordinary story
So what's the next phase, now the characters seems to near completion?
That brings me to the question: what game engine do you plan on using?

Re: an ordinary story
next phase is to build the environments.
i have in mind to build something like a large diorama for each environment.
first im aiming for a story book, then i'll see what can be done.... to be a game...
(my programing skills are next to zero.... i would use unity if i could though)
for the book though i have in mind to make it like this :
a mix beetween 3d and 2d (usually with brigher colors than tis one
)
and a new character^^

Re: an ordinary story
I don't know all that much about game engines, but I would think many of them have "their own ideas" about the way a character should be/can be rigged, so that maybe a consideration before you start rigging them, even if it's initially just to pose them statically for your book. Creating good rigs can be a pain, so having to do them all over once you get to the game part, might be a hassle.
But: what do I know?

Re: an ordinary story
actually you have a very good point about rigs...
when i started rigging in softimage,i made stuff that wasn't compatible with game engines...
no shadow rigs and such... i had 12 characters rigged
but eventually scrapped them...
so i fell in the trap...
for the book i will rig only the characters that appear freaquently...
if a character will appear in a couple of pictures
then most probably i will pose him with zbrush^^
and thank god there is face robot ;)
i only know how to model and use some basic rigs softimage offers

a lot more than me i believe... especially when it comes to softimageBut: what do I know?

Re: an ordinary story
yes essentially im working alone
i have 3 friends that help me here and there, but 98~99% of the work is done by me so far
my problem is that i lack programing skills
so i cant make the game on my own, thus a story book is more realistic goal
{btw im playing with unity3d game engine lately
currently trying to figure out if dual quaternion skinning is possible in unity (its not supported natively)
im trying to find if its possible the feature to be implemented into the engine or not..^^ }
i must say that almost all the environments are WIP
there are 2 that i have to start yet...
and 2 that each one of my friends are working
i want to finish the models first and then start texturing
here's some more
on the last pic half of the buildings are made by a friend by the name plasma 3d
he also gave me some props^^

Re: an ordinary story
hello^^ here's another up
i have only 2 major things left for the exterior part of the world
a pirate bay, and to finish the square (wip page 1)
then there are some interiors props and to rig the characters ^^
for vlad's castle i made blueprints form a google warehouse model
oh and one question, i did the greeble effect in c4d
it was a variable parameter in the extrude command panel
is there anything like that in softimage?
