In terms of the freelancer/individual and Fabric - for sure there are useful aspects even now. For example, the Alembic loader is blisteringly fast (our car asset from the recent demos loads in 2:30 in Maya and 0:10 in Fabric) and playback is fast as well. I'm looking forward to the next 6-12 months as we start being able to appeal to more technical artists - some fun stuff coming

It's been pretty smooth sailing so far - it helps to have people working on it that are very familiar with Max's SDK, but it's also a strong point of the product for sure. Max has thrived due to the plugin ecosystem, so it's pretty robust. I think there's a lot of snobbery aimed at Max, yet look at the work people have been able to produce with it - it does the job and a lot of people really love it.
