The cool thing about this new 3ds Max moment is that at least once a month we see some news, interview, related subject about the software and that things are changing. Hell, they even hired Martin Coven (who is an VFX and Animator guy with lots of experience) to show there's commitment http://area.autodesk.com/blogs/max/the- ... is-growing.

What's the lastest news about Softimage we have read besides work done by artists, studios or plugin developers? What's the last time we heard about our Project Manager. Who is our PM?

This questions lead to doubt and AD doesn't seem to concern to clear them. Anyway ... back to studying.

Busy man for sure... why else would he not speak more often to the 'public'? Yet if Softimage was his only task, there surely must be great things ahead of us... *sarcasm off*.
No, I wonder how much of his time he actually spends 'supervising' Softimage - you know, like that university professor who drops by quarterly...
And I wonder if he has ever been to the Singapore office... but who needs to be on site these days... might even be trout fishing or bear hunting, with just his smartphone in the pocket...

Mr. Mogk, are you there? Care to say some words of confidence to your userbase every now and then?

We’re passionate about the software and fearful/doubtful about its future, that much is true & that IS something that does pervade “almost every single thread” in this little community (not just in the general section).

The first part is no myth and that's not a bad thing. I agree 100% with you that Autodesk would do good if they'd reassured the community somehow.

p.s. My statement was intended as a fun fact not a critique aimed at the community. I know incorrigible if taken literally implies the need for betterment and as such I understand why my meaning was no so obvious.

I'm pretty sure no AD employee would ever come here to make a statement, at least not in an official quality. If they were to come here they'd establish a dangerous precedent which they avoided thus far pretty well. [/sarcasm] (<- btw Eugen, this is the correct syntax )

Well, the precedent more or less already was set when Daniel Tutino-Galletti, AKA DanielGTG, dared to participate in this den of doom & gloom we call the si-community. I just hope his participation here wasn't the reason why he had to move on so quickly (=sarcasm also).

to be fair that's not his desktop but the otoy preconfigured one for the amazon remote desktop service.

This is essentially what Cory is blogging about. This is just a technology preview that people can actually trial and test themselves. I believe there is a 90 day trial period, during which people can access 30 day trials of Maya, Max, Inventor and Revit.

Would have it been so hard to have included Softimage in that tech preview? Surely there are people there that can understand the perception this creates, particularly in light of the fact we are not very silent about being ignored in most of AD's marketing (and a tech preview is a very effective form of marketing)
