Post by siavash khodaie » 28 Apr 2013, 06:31

We now make a short animation but we have a big problem. what is the best way to move the beard? I mean automatic movement and collision.
thank you

This really depends on how you're creating the beard. Is it just polygons or is it instances using ice? Is it Softimage Hair with instances?

If it's polygons you should look into the mt_spring plugin to get some automated secondary on it. You can plot it out then animate it by hand to not interpenetrate. A bit labor instensive but gets the job done when you just need to push through.

Using ICE there may be ways using the Melena or Kristinka (sp?) to automate it and push the points back out of the chest area.

nice that you have answered me. that is poly modeling. I tried mt_spring. but that has not collision. I think the best way is this what you just said.
