TrueSpace is not opensource, but it was left free for use, kind of Microsoft to do that. They patched it like 4 times already and you can still download it. I used it till as late as 2015. And.. I still would love to use it for a little retro 3D project. It's fun! Rigging is intuitive (and handling them too, drag on skin, drags the puppet like dynamic IK handles) and a viewport with shadows and SSS and nodal workflows for materials and other stuff you can do.. it was fun. Also.. multiple people modeling in the same space if you host a server in an internal network - really cool stuff! Oh man.. I wish software was weird like trueSpace - like cellphones are finally starting to become again.

Sadly, most of the links on that page seem to be broken...
But the 1461(!) page long user manual for Truespace 7.6 can still be downloaded from there.

Look like they are moving the TrueSpace resources on a new server with updated interface.

Ah yes, good old Cellulo. He's been really diligent documenting and preserving the trueSpace archive. No doubt it will show. He has also compiled a killer list of free or opensource 3D related applications, it's priceless.Daniel Brassard wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019, 15:46 Look like they are moving the TrueSpace resources on a new server with updated interface.
