Happened to U3DA trueSpace forums this past year. The Joomla site, for not being updated, and the forum code got a gateway exception error due to a virus script that wrote itself into the header. If someone has access to the backend, they can revert the site to an earlier date and it will fix it. Another issue is updating the backend server system - like joomla, the forum code, hosting service, etc.

Other reasons why it wasn't working was also due to the host or domain name expiring and he who owns it maybe hasn't renewed it in time due to insufficient funds on their card.

So.. the trueSpace forum is still going - but did pass through that kind of issue.

Actually, I dont know how to translate that correct, but it means more or less: the Domain was deleted at the 22.05.1017 and its current status is "Redemption Grace Period.

Domain reached its expiration date, most likely. If owner pays for next five years or so, it will be back again. Even after grace period there is some chance, if files won't be deleted from server, and someone else won't be interested in buying the domain.
