yo, raps !!!
friends, take a look

How to port our precious ICE stuff into houdini vex. Questions raised - how to create a custom parameter in VEX, just like we do in ICE, and why there are different results in math.
This is interesting i think.
If you know the answers feel free to comment )))
Hakuna Matata ))) ahahahaha ))))

About Houdini "ICE". I must say that the nodes are hideous. They remind me of particle flow.

Thanks you a ton for sharing you process, i'm following the same migrating path although i started more with the animation side. I must say houdini is fantastic and i've found than in softimage I was "workarounding" for many things and... not at all in houdini.

Hehehe.

NNois can you tell us an example of a "workarounding" that doesn't happen in Houdini?

There are plenty ! a simple and maybe bad example would be a clone, heavily used on softimage but doesn't update cluster and other things... in houdini this is a live "read" operator who start just where you want.
Another one, on softimage you load a model, he read it and paste it in your scene, and you go from there, if the file is modified you restarst from... the start. On houdini, the file is just read and used, if the file change everything follows. Just like you assets in after effect and nuke ;-)

I see. I am in a problem with cluster and materials with a clone mesh. Is possible to copy cluster from one object to the clone? please answer in this topic http://www.si-community.com/community/v ... =15&t=5188
