I was thinking about the definition of a short film:
The Rules for the Oscars (why aim lower?
) define it as follows:
"A short film is defined as an original motion picture that has a running time of not more than 40 minutes, including all credits."
That seems sufficiently vague for our cause, although 40 minutes seem way too long...
Any ideas?

yes that is vague enough for us and i agree 100% that we should aim sky high for this otherwise there is no point.
I have an idea that id like to put forward myself and am just putting together a synopsis and a few rough sketches.
40 mins is long....very very long, i recon we aim around the 2-5mins margin?

yes french roast was defiantly a gorgeous looking piece! and a good bar to set for ourselves.

as for the CAP if you pop over to the "ideas and synopsis" thread of the CAP forum you will find that we are making progress and have settled on an idea for the first ever softimage community animation project. come along and join in.
