Technical Director / R&D Specialist

One Animation is looking for a highly motivated people with a strong understanding of VFX and fully animated CG Productions. An in-depth understanding of Python is essential, and experience with Autodesk Softimage is an advantage. Knowledge of other scripting languages is also an advantage. A programming background is highly desirable.

We have multiple positions for experienced and creative individuals who will work in our Research and Development Team to develop pipeline tools, creature tools, and rendering solutions and assist across multiple projects. They will also be responsible for assessing new software and staying current with industry advancements.

Requirements
• Strong scripting skills, particularly with Python
• Strong understanding of CGI pipelines and department workflow
• Strong understanding Autodesk Softimage including ICE and SDK
• Ability to test and asses the industries new software and pipeline tools
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Film or similar discipline
• Strong sense of self-motivation to manage your own responsibilities and schedule realistic deadlines.
• The ability to work in isolation and within a team environment will be required
• Creativity and the ability to communicate

Other Considerations
• A strong understanding of Arnold and/or 3Delight rendering solutions
• Experience in shader writing, C++, MEL, objective C and/or web development
• Working knowledge of Mental Ray rendering
• Experience with Compositing and 2D Image Manipulation
• Other creative skills such as Photography or Traditional Art
• Aptitude to participate in all aspects of creating final shots
