Attached is an ICE compound that flips an object over 180degrees, duplicates it and flips again.
Create an empty point cloud with a simulated ICE tree and plug this compound on. It creates 1 point itself to start with, so no need to emit anything yourself.
Create a cube, which the compound will automatically pick up on the name. ie 'cube'. Make the cube size 1 and move its centre to 0.5,0,0. This just means the cube will flip around its right hand edge.
Any problems, just post here!
Chris

If anyone's playing with this, to modify the speed of the flipping object, adjust the value in the Add node, if that isn't too obvious. I guess I could have exposed that number.
The whole compound isn't very flexible as it's very much been designed to just perform the one task. I've modified it for some of the examples on Vimeo, so it flips in all directions, so it's fairly straight forward to tweak.

hey folks..

this doesnt seem to work for me.. i must be doing something wrong.. heres what i did:

i opened a new scene. then i created an empty point cloud via Primitive>PointCloud>Empty
i opened the ICE Tree and did Create>ICE Tree
then i imported the compound and plugged into port1 on my ICE Tree.
i made a cube with the size 1 and relocated it as chris mentioned (0.5 , 0, 0)
now when i try to play my animation nothing happens.. what did i do wrong?

it would be awesome if someone could point it out to me.. thanks!

what would be very helpful is to know how you went about tweaking this setup to get the output shown on the video up there. i can't quite grasp how you got it to spread the way it does..

i'm currently workin on a little project where this setup could come in quite handy.. could you please explain some more or maybe just post a pic of the ICE tree you used in the generation of this video?

peace.keep the good stuff flowin!
