After Stephen Blair started to point out some interesting facts about the 2011.5 XSISDK in his Support Blog, I just checked to find, the SDK documentation that comes with my painstakingly downloaded 2011 Subscription Advantage Pack is still the same (even in name) as the one shipped with 2011SP1.
This is getting ridiculous IMHO. I know "you all" don't like it when I say the documentation is slipping, but either Softimage forgot to ship the right version of said docs or they simply forgot to create them, either way this is quite serious! Softimage shipping something resembling the correct SDK docs very soon would be nice.
Having to gather this info from occasional blog posts really shouldn't do...

This is explained in the What's New document though, and the new SDK features are documented there

Well, there's no need to discuss it any further, as far as I am concerned, but there seems to be no "explanation" on the "what's new" page, merely a link I cannot open from within Softimage as my workstation isn't connected to the internet:
Quote:
SDK Changes

For highlights of the enhancements to the Autodesk Softimage SDK, see New Features for Softimage 2011 Subscription Advantage Pack (version 9.5).

But you're right, I stand (partially) corrected. ;)
Case closed as far as I'm concerned...

edit: this "what's new" confusion stems from the fact that there's a "what's new" page in the local XSIDOC and a separate one on the Softimage WIKI. Luceric points to the WIKI, while I point to the local XSIDOC.
