Tim Borgmann und Christian Keller won the "Clio Award Gold 2009" with the "Audi Filter"-Spot. In production they made massive use of SIs ICE system using up to 50 mio particles..

Hi Rork, your first link is, as far as I can tell, just the one linked to by owei in the first post in this thread, but on Youtube (in lower quality?) and your second link is the "Making of" that you can find on said page linked by owei. And I think farhaad_yousefi's question was slightly more specific and the answer sadly seems to be: probably not... ;)

Most easily done in Post-Processing...

The Method for doing this, that i know, is done by splitting the base-image in its three channels.
Then you can offset the channels in different directions and merge the image later on...

The offset-amount can be driven by a gradient so that it becomes stronger to the edges. This simulates the real-error that is caused by the camera-lens, that may offset the different wave-lengths to the borders of the image...

Chromatic Abberation is nothing else than an overlay-error of the three color-channels while recording...

Don't know, if Deracus means this method, but Ewald showed a way to create chromatic aberration in the FXTree in this thread on XSIBase... ;)
