Architectural modeling tools
Some CAD style tools for easier Archviz modelling in Softimage.
Plugins:-
-Cameras-
Fixed Polygon Cam - create a view perpendicular to an arbitary polygon
-primitives-
Draw and size Cube, Box, Cylinder, Sphere, Cone, etc standard primitives in viewport
-transform tools-
4 point rotate
2 point transform
3 point scale
mirror about 2 points
align objects by 2 polygons
align object - polygon to edge
aligh object to polygon
Limitations: these do not work correctly on enveloped meshes unfortunately.
-measuring property-
Apply to scene root and measure distances - automatically converted to scales like mm, cm.

Re: Architectural modeling tools
Sweeet!! Needed something like this in XSI for a long time. Just two things would put this little proggie over the top... 1) Last Distance in Feet and Inches and 2) Distance between two objects.. this last one would be great to have two nulls you could push around and know the distance between them at all times.
Lovely all the same...
Thanks!

Unfortunately it doesn't work 100% in Softimage 2011!

What about it doesnt work? I've only been using the RedScale tool, and it seems to work okay... did I miss something?pBarrelas wrote:Unfortunately it doesn't work 100% in Softimage 2011!

Re: Architectural modeling tools
Hello,
I find those tools very useful, specially the align by two polygons. One idea to improve it: it would be great if align by two polygons have a mode dedicated to polygon island. Instead of aligning the object, it aligns only the polygon island of the first selected polygon.
Thanks,
