render time is still around 30 minutes at the office with proper workstation
most of the stuff is textured geometry, but i use color from pointclouds to add some variety... and rocks have some procedural displacement (several cell scalar and fractal scalar nodes) mixed with texture...
ICE is really amazing for scattering stuff. I made quite a few compounds, but they are mostly very simple tools, nothing fancy. but they allow me to control the look really well
i will share them later because they can help some people i guess, at least people who haven't had time to look into ICE yet
yeah, Arnold and ICE is amazing combination. i'm looking forward to go back to my usual stuff with wizards, witches etc. but this one will be just a car in the middle of nowhere without any driver
