Softimage Training Video Resources - Free & Commercial
Softimage Training Video Resources - Free & Commercial
The following thread will be a list of available Softimage Training Video Resources on the web.
This list is, and will never be complete, but we'll try anyway! ;-)
For the Softimage Plugins or Addons Resources thread go here
Free Stuff:
Threads on other Forums:
Training Material thread on XSIBase.com
Note: Some of the links in those threads are not working anymore. We'll try to find alternatives or find them again.
Vimeo
The 'official' Vimeo XSI Tutorials Channel
The 'official' Vimeo XSI ICE related videos Channel
Misc Websites:
The training video's hosted on the VAST website are now also accessible to people outside the US.
I zipped and uploaded all the DVD's to a FileFactory account:
Softimage XSI 4 "Principles" DVD on FileFactory for download.
Or now to be watched on Youtube via this thread
Softimage XSI 4 "Production Series" DVD set on FileFactory for download. (Animating, Modeling/Texturing, Rendering & Concepts, Simulation)
Or now to be watched on YouTube via this thread.
Softimage XSI 5 "First Contact" & "Tips and Tricks" Video DVD's on FileFactory
Softimage XSI 5 written tutorial training on FileFactory: PDF/HTML & Scenefiles
According to the FileFactory policy, these files will stay available as long as they have a certain download ratio. So it will be up to you!! ;)
Big thanks to user AceMasterMind who spends -probably quite some- time putting the videos on Youtube.

Re: Softimage Training Video Resources - Free & Commercial
Hi Ace,
Thanks for the links
I added the videolinks to the set above.
For written training we might have to add a new thread, to avoid mixing up the two.
Also videolinks are easier to maintain, as vimeo/youtube/commercial links are not changed often.
Written stuff is often subject to domain shutdown or relocation, and we don't want another list of dead links

I started zipping and uploading the XSI 4 Production and Principles DVD's to a FileFactory account I created.
Hopefully I get them all uploaded this weekend. I also included some info and the scans of the cover and DVD.
Enjoy!

Re: Softimage Training Video Resources - Free & Commercial
Hi all,
In respons to AceMastermind's upload of the XSI 7 Cert.Training videos to YouTube, I created a zipped set (appr. 3.6Gb) of the accompanying Project Files and started uploading these to my FileFactory account.
So you don't have to DL the entire set from RediVivus first to get the scenefiles, if you don't want to.
Just look in the first post in this thread, the link is posted there.
Enjoy!!

Re: Softimage Training Video Resources - Free & Commercial
Great news, Rork...
The 001... numbering of the files probably means you'd have to download them all before you can unzip them?
No criticism there BTW (I wouldn't dare, with all these goodies), just asking...
;)

Re: Softimage Training Video Resources - Free & Commercial
yes, you have to DL them all first
It's one massive SI project, containing scenes, images, ICE compounds, rendered images etc.
It made no sense to cut this up, as you still would need all folders to properly open up scenes.
so... there ya go ;)
