Editing Shapes in the Shape Manager

Post by bluetish99 » 08 May 2019, 16:51

Hi, does anyone know if there's a way to remove tweaked points from your shapes in the shape manager? I made a mistake, and now no matter how much I tweak the points to try to match it to the original, they still move when I mix it, creating a nasty effect :(
I could redo the shape. Just wondering if it's possible

You could make a copy of the original mesh and use it to snap these points to. If they have the exact same position, they won't be green.

Or you could snap them all at once to that copy using shrinkwrap (closest point mode)

Hello,

You could also use a weigthmap to controll the deformation!

http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/xsi ... tMaps.html

create a weightmap ,blend (only)the desired Shape to 1! select the Shape(clusters)then go to Deform-Shape-Modulate Shape Key with..., select the Weightmap(Explorer)! now you can controll parts
of the shape by painting on the weightmap. When satisfied frezze the ApplyWeightmapToClusterkey-Operator and delete the weightmap.

Select the cluster you want to modify

Select the components (points) in the cluster you want to delete

Do one of the following:

- In the Edit panel, click the minus ( – ) button (next to the Cluster button).

or

- Choose Edit > Remove from Cluster from the Edit panel.

If you install gear there is a menu option to reset shape deformation on selected points. It will leave an operator so once you're happy with the reset best to freeze it off, otherwise any future changes will also get reset.
