Display dopesheet and fcurve editor in 1

There used to be a way to activate a dopesheet view within an fcurve editor to you could use both at the same time.
Anyone remember how? it used to be out of the box feature then they removed it so you had to go digging somewhere to activate it but its been a few years so cant remember.

in the SDK examples there are some custom relational views setup under view>SDK Samples> timeline*

also, in the "dual" monitor layout mode. There's some tabs under "Animation" that you can view different configurations of the editors.
