This is a pertty cool tool taro! Many thanks! I have a suggestion to you. (frankly I didn't read trough the thread, forgive me if this mentioned by someone else already) Would be great to see which key I standing on. Would be god to add a different colour for the active "dot" or show the frame number in a first row of the right click menu.
Thanks again!

Motion Trail Tool 1.5
With this custom tool you can visualize and edit trails of fcurve animated objects
directly in the viewport. Like with all custom tools this must be mapped to a hotkey.
The recent updates includes these features: Fix Bug about neutral pose and pivot Fix Bug about keyboard shortcut Add option "Don't deselect when you click on empty space" Add option "Display only limited frames" Manipulator ( Global Translate only ) Insert Key by Middle Click Remove Key by shortcut Delete Break Tangents by shortcut O Auto Slope by shortcut Shift+A Context Menu by Right Click Fixed Bug ( when parent animate, it was weird ) Slope Size by shortcut PageUp and PageDown Change Custom Preference Faster than v1.2 ( maybe ).
See this thread for a discussion on v1 of this plugin. The author has since created his own thread on si-community (link below) to facilitate the upload of his updates - this new thread is also recommended for new posts.

Re: Motion Trail on viewport -Version Up
Thanks.
I got a suggestion like yours before. But I haven't made it yet.
Actually it is not so difficult, so I'll do it in next version. I don't know when it is though.

Re: Motion Trail on viewport -Version Up
Taro!, thank you for the good tool!
But in version 1.5 i have some strange slope behavior. When i try to move it up/down (in screen space) it move in another direction - forward\backward. Version 1.3 haven't this problem.

Re: Motion Trail on viewport -Version Up
Same here - I'm having a couple of problems.
1. The camera moves in a very weird direction when using Motion Trails.
2. The spline handles can go crazy if you touch them.
But I wish this functionality was part of Softimage. It's been in Lightwave forever.

If I remember correctly, after installation, go to the keyboard mapping window in softimage, look under "Custom Script Commands" you should find, Motion Trail there,sirdavid32 wrote:How do you use this? Please help. There´s no readme. And also the site is down.
Thanks.
then assign this command, to a keyboard shortcut (I used <ctrl>+m)...
Re: Motion Trail on viewport -Version Up
1. create 1 null give it rings shape, turn on animation ghosting on it and object shape
2. create 2nd null, you can leave it at default look, turn on animation ghosting and use trail
3. Parent one under another
4. turn on animation ghosting in view port, constrain pose of parent null to any object/control you wanna see.
works fine

Re: Motion Trail on viewport -Version Up
how do you get to activate it on the viewport once it´s installed?

Re: Motion Trail on viewport -Version Up
Uhm, didn't OzAdi's work? I remember doing that too,sirdavid32 wrote:how do you get to activate it on the viewport once it´s installed?
If you rarely or have never to assigned a custom hotkey,OzAdi wrote:If I remember correctly, after installation, go to the keyboard mapping window in softimage,

it's not at all complicated, but it's just not immediately obvious.
This might help if so ....

That's actually a pretty cool trick Miroj Thanks!,mirkoj wrote:1. create 1 null give it rings shape, turn on animation ghosting on it and object shape

But is missing in-viewport tweaking of f-curve driven paths,
Motion path isn't without any quirks, but mostly works great in my experience,
sometimes a heck of alot more "direct" than tweaking XYZ Fcurves wich can sometimes be like trying to make a circle with an etch-a-sketch
