Create IK on nulls?

I'm buffled. I assume, one can create an IK solver with nulls (or any object for that matter). It's only that I can't find it. Could someone help me on that one?

I guess that is not possible then. What I want to do is modify an imported mocap animation by using IK for the feet at least. Do you know any workflow abou that?

you have to retarget the mocap skeleton to your rig's animation controls.
this can be done with motor, or constrain your rig to the mocap skleton.
then you can bake the animation to your rig's animation controls and edit with various ways.
check the user manual about motor, transferring mocap data to your rig and adjusting the retargeted animation on a rig or adding offsets to mocap data.

I do not have a rig yet, and I was just thinking of building the rig on top of the existing mocap rig. In eithercase though, its too bad that SI doesnt have an option to create an IK between objects other than bones.

Yes it can with ICE Kinematics. check the "kinematics walker" in the sample scenes, nulls instead of bones with 2boneIK solver.

StudioNest also had nice IK solvers, but I forget what the addon was called.
