Keith Lango Timer Tool request

Hello, recently I have been studying animation with tutorials Keith Lango tutorials, Keith on one of them uses a tool he created to solve the problem of timing in a complex scene or to not expend so much time waiting for a capture.
This video (http://hotfile.com/dl/113054304/729a048 ... l.mp4.html) show the tool, first is the Monkey shuffle is a tool to export images to a pencil shooter named Monkey Jam but what I think will be great to have in softimage is what it call Timer Tool, is like a Monkey Jam in Softimage. I ask Keith to give me information about the tool and this was the answer:
“Well I'm just making single frame playblasts of each key, then opening a new clean Maya scene and automatically putting those image onto an imagePlane. I then break the automatic expression that causes the images to cycle on subsequent frames, then force key the image changes. Then i can change when the images change from one to the next in the timeline or dopesheet. When i get the images changing at the timing I want i write out a simple text file with that information, then apply those timings to the character controls in the real animated scene.”
Do you think this will be a good tool for animators?
Its possible to make this tool?
Thanks
