Regarding the Prop Tool...

Post by bluetish99 » 24 Apr 2019, 00:13

Is there a keyboard shortcut for the prop move tool? I've been using softimage for quite a while now, and I was watching a tutorial, and it seems the guy enables and disables it without moving his mouse. Sorry this is such a basic/simple question. :-s

In the GUI, there is a button that says PROP on the right, below the transform readouts. Activate this, and the tool is turned on. The buttons for this is.. god it has been so long... you can configure it in the hotkey editor under the XSI group?

By default Alt + Pad 2

But, I'd suggest to change it to fit your needs.
Alt + Pad2 forces me to use both hands, dropping my pen or mouse, so that's a bad workflow for me. Personally I use it with ctrl + B because Softimage doesn't have anything with that combination and because it's close enough to Maya's Soft Selection B key and I use Maya a lot too.
