going back and fixing a few errors, and i find my model has vanished, with t he term 'model offloaded'
now i have to do the scene all over again.
is it because i used a reference model?
'model offloaded?'
Re: 'model offloaded?'
I've never used reference models in Softimage, but from what I understand in other applications, "offloaded" state means that the model is removed from the scene to save memory, and only a link to it is kept. So what happened seems to be normal behavior, and there must be a switch somewhere to set it the model back to "loaded" state.

Re: 'model offloaded?'
it would appear to be the case. i imported another ref model and everything fell back into place.
i started using ref models so i wouldn't have to re doo the same animation over again if i made changes. i never could get the copy and past to work right.
