How to prevent imported .fbx from triangulating ?

Post by Frank1000 » 09 Aug 2014, 12:54

Hi,
when i import the same .fbx to 3dsmax it is not triangulated, but importing it to Softimage triangulates it.

How is this done the right way ?

got info that poly models are usually triangulated anyways, even if showing quad-polys etc.
Found the Quadrangulate, which makes or displays the polys as quads, at least most of them.

when you exported from max did you see any warning message in the fbx window about the edge flow? if yes, then try to add an edit poly modifier to your object in max and export again.

Hi Geoath,
thx for reply. No, there are no errors coming up. Not in 3Ds and not in SI.
Checked for Edit Poly modifier, but there wasn't one in my setup.
