Let's say when I zoom in, the grid gets dense and vice versa. But Dynamic Grid is not important, it will be more than enough if I can control the size of the Grid with a hotkey, like "ctrl +1" for Coarser Grid and "ctrl +2" for Denser Grid. Both increases or decreases by a power of two. Also the hotkey should work in all the views not just the perspective view.

It is working almost like I had wished for. Just adding the above few suggestion will make it perfect.

Regarding the script for the Pick Edge Reference. This is how I use the Pick Edge Reference. I select a Point and then Select an Edge Reference, while doing so the Point do not get deselected. With your script I select the Point and then use your script (which I have hooked up to a hotkey btw) and Pick the Edge Reference, but in the process the Point gets deselected. Please make the Point stay selected even after I have picked the Edge Reference.

Thanks for your patience ^:)^

uglyrenamePlugin :)) Ha Ha (like Nelson Muntz)

I've packaged the new versions to both scripts in one zip (see below)

Concerning the GridDensity:
Okay, just creating two commands to be used in conjunction with hotkeys is way easier. Everytime one of the two commands ("gridplus" & "gridmin") gets called it increases or decreases the current Cell Size with 0.1. If the value gets below 0.2 it stops.

Concerning the EdgeReference plugin:
I think/guess/hope the only thing missing was an automatic return to the original selection filter before invoking the command. If so, I added the necessary code...

Now I need some sleep... (-|
(And I need to figure out what's wrong with the script editor/plugin manager in SAP 2012
- if anything, I can't rule out user error at this point either)

Wow! it turned out that I can't snap Points to these grids 8-} b-(

Please make the Grids size change simultaneously in all the views. Again, if snapping in these grids are not possible then it would be kind of useless to just increase or decrease the Grid size. I hope you understand.

And thanks the Pick Edge Reference now works the way I wanted. Thank you.

Okay, here's my final attempt...
I added the snap steps to the things that get updated and it now updates each and every possible view.camera too, even ones that are not in use at the moment. I added an extra command ("resetgridall") to enable you to reset all cameras to the default value of 1 in one simple click and sent the new value directly to the "Translate Snap Increment". I hope this works for you now. If not, another update will take (slightly) longer...
:ympray:

One last post. :D

Regarding

(1) Hardening or Softening the normal of edges selectively.

This can be done with User Normals(Model>Modify>Component>Set User Normals, in case anyone is wondering). This does exactly the same thing as Max's smoothing groups and Maya's Soften/Harden Edge.

Thanks :-h

Regarding point (6) - Doesn't upping the quality of anti-aliasing in the nvidia control panel make your viewport better? Assuming you have an nvidia card..

That's very buggy unless you have a Quadro.

BTW, this is my plugin for hard/soft edges. Since I wrote it I never use the default one because I have to delete the edges-auto clusters it creates and do more clicks to mark and unmark edges.
