Houdini/Alembix Vertex Color

Post by sant0s » 18 Oct 2016, 22:03

Hey,

just playing with Houdini and wonder, if any of you had a similar problem.

A colored fluid simulation, meshed with VDB and exported to alembic.
When importing to Softimage, I can read the Color, velocity and other information.
The Problem is, that the color does not look good, very blobby.

I attach an image.

Tried the emTools Smooth Vertex Data, but thats not working.

Anybody has an idea, whats the problem and how to solve that?

Thx alot! :)

VDB voxel size maybe?

I haven't tested Houdini>SI yet, so that's my only guess for now ;)

Hey!

Where does the color come from? From the particles or from the VDB? What does the mesh look like?
What does it look like originally in H?

cheers,
oli

heey :)
have to check my settings here on the board - did not get an email that you answerd...

but yea, I really just had to increase points and its looking cool now.
simulation just needs time and loooooots of GB! :D

I thought there is some kinda trick to interpolate the colors. but anyway, its working now with more points.

thx!
