In June 2016 INSYDIUM announced the acquisition of BlackCores advanced Smoke and Fire simulation software ExplosiaFX. Since then we have worked tirelessly, scrutinising valuable code, integrating this into the X-Particles 4 and Cinema 4D framework. Dramatically improving our Smoke and Fire simulation capabilities, giving you unparalleled control and interaction.

SOME GOOD VIDEOS OF CURRENT V3.5 VERSION.

Hum, I know their plugin is a general purpose particle plugin, but I think they should make a few clips to the likes of what Oleg did for ExplosiaFX,

Because TurbulenceFD also has a bunch of such examples, and also looks really fast,
and I haven't yet seen any interactive and fluidic things like either ExplosiaFX or TurbulenceFD with X-Particles (yet)

I'm really happy for Oleg though! :)

If you want to know anything in general about X-Particles, check the video manual. This will be updated to v4 around the time of release.

C4D Broadcast can be picked up for around $1200 (with $250 yearly maintenance) and X-Particles is a one off fee for each major version release (approx 3 year lifecycle). Together they make a pretty solid replacement for XSI, especially for those that spend most of their time in ICE (C4D is still lacking on character animation workflows).

The best thing about X-Particles is the workflow. It's the most 'artist friendly' version of proceduralism I've encountered. It's not as powerful as something like Houdini. But it can do Houdini type effects without the artist having to go through a steep learning curve.

Really looking forward to Explosia in X-Particles. Oleg's technically creative mind mixed with X-particles wonderfully artist focused workflow should be a real winner. I'm a Houdini boy at heart, but why spend extra time and effort in Houdini if X-Particles gets you there far quicker? ;)

Nice to see this survive. Oleg's great and Cinema is a nice friendly and quite complete package.

can this be cached and rendered across a network or do you need a license for each computer you would like to render on.

Here's your answer from the FAQ:
All X-Particles (as of X-Particles 3) licenses allow unlimited render nodes, you do not need to buy additional licenses. Install X-Particles to each client and ensure they have an internet connection for licensing. Every download of X-Particles carries your license information encoded into it, so our license server will enable your X-Particles to run under CLR/TR/NET without the need to enter a serial number for them.
Buy it at full price rather than the Black Friday 40% discount as it's only full price purchases that get the free upgrade to X-Particles 4 on December 5th. If you take advantage of the 40% discount the upgrade fee is £220 (plus local sales tax if applicable).

You can still take advantage of the 40% discount with Cycles 4D (but you'll need yo purchase as two separate baskets as the discount code is applied to the basket value). This is a smart move as Cycles 4D has really deep integration with X-Particles. Redshift is better and much faster for certain effects but the Insydium boys have done a really great job making Cycles feel very native to both X-Particles and C4D itself.

You have the video manual with many explanations for xP3.5 http://manual.x-particles.com/ i would say this is one the best manuals i have ever seen for a software with many examples.

xPcache can be used to render with Teamrender also says with TP Partio which is included says it can export to other software. But with vdb that appears in xP4 things might be better.

Also forum for your questions.

Teamrender in Cinema 4D with less expensive version(Prime) you have only 1 PC doing rendering , so in fact no Team at all ! :) . The other versions except Studio(most expensive) have 3 . Studio has unlimited nodes.

I don't know how it works with Cycles

Just to add a few things on the value front. C4D Broadcast is an excellent partner to X-Particles (it has most of the important procedural functionality of Studio such as Mograph toolset) and can be purchased for $1271 from Novedge for the next 5 days. Studio is a bigger discount and is currently available for $2771.

The main crucial difference is that C4D Broadcast is limited to 3 render nodes compared to the unlimited allocation with Studio. But Broadcast is great value and the yearly maintenance is cheaper too (around $400).

A full comparison is available here - https://www.maxon.net/en-gb/products/in ... omparison/

Many of the things that are missing in Broadcast are things that are available with far better functionality in companion toolsets such as Houdini and 3d Coat. Once you're on board with a Maxon product you'll have access to regular promotions that provide upgrades to Studio if you feel the need.

Don't forget they also should offer sidegrade licenses for Autodesk Softimage. C4D Studio promotion is currently about 2400 euros+IVA in Italy and little over 2200 if sidegraded. One of great things of Studio is the sculpt capabilities that no ones knows about.

Good info. I hadn't realised Maxon were applying the sidegrade on top of the current promotion. This makes Broadcast $1196 and Studio $2621.

To be clear, Studio is the better buy in the long run but Broadcast is excellent for those on a budget.
