ExplosiaFX released ! (premature)

I can't believe...!!! :ymapplause: :ymparty:
ExplosiaFX is a fluid dynamics simulation tool currently integrated in Autodesk Softimage. It is constructed upon dynamically resizing voxel grid with modern multigrid solver and thus provides most quality results in reasonable time. Intensive usage of AVX instructions when available makes it extremely fast without any compromises.

By support of the OpenVDB volumetric format ExplosiaFX removes the need to render simulated data in Softimage, easy pipelining is possible as well as external caches processing on Softimage side.

Any chance of a true non-watermarked non-commercial license at a reduced price? :ympray: ;)

Wow, this looks amazing!

Every time I see new Softimage tech or for it, I want to download the student license to play with it. Damn you AD, keep Softimage available for renting at least. You cold bastard !

Rent mode of. Looking forward to reading more on this.
Pricing wise, it's cheaper than FumeFX and TurbulenceFD.

I wish I had the money to buy Softimage now. Such a shame I'll never be able to use it. Oh well.

there are no watermarks at all, just a tiny notifications in the history that it is non-commercial :-) But you can get trial 180days key for free in the form below and remove those notifications completely. Is it ok for you ?

Well, technically, Mootzoids emFluid (currently emFluid5)
was one of the first (if not the first? Correct me if I'm wrong) plugins

That's really awesome! What would it take to get this rendering in Redshift?

well it works with provided Arnold and Mental Ray setup shaders already. As soon as Redshift supports volumes / VDB then we could also render in RS tooo..!
Capture_EFX2.JPG
here is a custom color gradient on the fire shader applied to the heat grid, is really surprisingly fast to sim and render the demo scenes with high detail

Yes, this looks brilliant. Presets work pretty well and almost realtime with the preview render. But can see from introductory video that very deep level adjustments can be made in ICE. Exciting stuff for sure.

wow ! I'll try that as soon as we could render that with redshift !

Thanks a lot !
