:ymhug:

edit: this wouldn't be a bad idea for other renders as well, like Redshift and VRay...

Think it'd be okay to post watermarked stuff in my portfolio?

I doubt Solid would care at all if it's for purposes of getting hired or showing your work.

On the other hand, if you were selling your work for money (and with watermarks) that's definitely a no-no.

I think Stephen can answer that one for you.

Commercial use of the trial license or the downloaded, unlicensed version is prohibited, but it's ok to put a watermarked image in a portfolio.

Up until now it's been in beta, and still is? Therefore you can't expect any tutorials as certain aspects in the development change all the time...
Nothing's too difficult to achieve, it just takes longer...

Have you worked with Arnold yet?
Or misread all the articles about it?

Arnold is not a beta project, but yes, new features are added all the time. Like all other software ;-)

Arnold as a renderer is NOT in beta. The plug-ins for SI and Maya, etc ARE in beta.

If the plugins are still in beta they might want to mention this a little more prominently on their website.

This little mistake struck me as rather amusing BTW:
Arnold for Softimage is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X with builds for Softimage 2012, 2013, 2014.
(My highlight obviously and quoted from here)
:D

The plug-ins being in beta is just my take on it from how they have been discussed in the past on the various channels (official and not). Some clarification would be welcomed. I do want to stress though, that while they are "beta" they are full featured and I know numerous studios working with it in production including us at Hybride.

Arnold is not beta.
SItoA 3.0 and MtoA 1.0 are not beta.

Note the plugins are free. You pay for the Arnold license and use the plugins you want.

And yes, while the Downloads text does say "Mac OS X", that is a copy-paste error. Thanks for noticing, we'll update that. The Requirements section lists the supported platforms (Windows and Linux)
