I wish 3D Delight had some good training from Digital Tutors or cmiVFX. All I could find was these two and the second link is a (5) part book, anyone recommend if it's a book to start out about 3D Delight or does it strictly jump into programming for 3D Delight ?

The Renderman Tutorial: Book 1 [Kindle Edition] though to 5

Hi,

Could you provide some more information on this?
What exactly is covered? Some list of topics might be nice for people.
Maybe a short example video to add?

cheers for doing this btw! :ymparty:

Are you sure you're not breaking NDA by showing this? :D You charging money for it, - does SolidAngle allow this sort of activity? :D

Always a good question, legal stuff can bite you in the behind when least expected.

I didn't think about this after reading, but basically everything is under NDA, unless stated otherwise.
But there is a rendering course by Ulf Lundgren at fxphd, so I'm not sure how that was brokered.

And this will only apply to people who can (legally) run Arnold, as there are no testversions to be downloaded at solidangle.....

So running a pirated version wouldn't violate the NDA? Interesting. I guess I'll have to get the NDA and read it. Based on the OP's posting history, I would be somewhat surprised if he has a legal version.

I don't want to judge here but if there's info this breaks the solidangle NDA I'll delete this thread.

@nourvfx in that case, maybe you should remove the product from your site too, to be safe.

Probably not, since NDA is a non disclosure agreement, not a non piracy agreement... And one has to sign it.
It does probably violate many international laws on owning right to use intelectual property. One does not need to sign in for that :)

Guess he finally got a reply from SA.
After all he's a wanted man, tested over 20 rendering engines.

But making money out of pirated version, that's really classy.

Some doubts have been raised in this thread, so I am forced to act upon the possibility that this isn’t 100% legal. I have removed the links from the original post and from csaez’s post as well and I am closing this thread now. But before I go, let me please add the following: If you see anything you think not to be “above board” on our little community, the first thing you should do is to report this to a member of our team. Moaning and groaning about it in the thread itself might seem much more fun, reporting a possibly problematic post, however, is way more productive.
:-?

edit: to clarify: I'm not saying it isn't 100% legal, I just have to act on the possibility that it isn't.
Stay safe, sane & healthy!
