means they have been goofing too much and their boss is on them to stay busy. They if I had a $100 for every useless call I got from Autodesk I would be able to buy Vray for every computer in my office prolly.

Actually the last time an Autodesk rep called to see if I was happy and what they could do if anything . I told them to stop calling me with nuisance calls and they stopped calling back. but then again I also told the receptionist to tell them I wasn't here. Never understood the sales logic of pestering the customer to death.

Well, the annual SI-WIKI placeholder page has just been created: Autodesk Softimage 2013 :ymparty:
("you do the math..." :-? )

Very often, if you get a cold call from Autodesk, its not often Autodesk per se. Like many companies, Autodesk use specialist TeleSales and Marketing companies to go through the large volume of calls required. You will often get this for things like, for example, promotions and things like Subs renewels. Often the actual Autodesk sales managers or resellers will follow up with their own accounts anyway, but call outs will catch any that miss out or slip through the net. Either way, if you wanted someone from Autodesk to contact you, then the caller would log it and pass the lead on to the relevent person.
As I say this isn't anything unique to Autodesk, many companies do this and it can be very effective. But personally when it comes down to Autodesk and the type of products we do, cold calling existing customers is not something I particular favour, or agree with.

Last year's new feature videos for v2012 were posted on 1st of march on Mr. Schoennagel's blog. Release was 7th of april I think.
I don't suppose that schedule is kept strictly, is it.

They don't even have to release anything, right? Subscription doesn't state you get new version every year

Cryptic message: Autodesk doesn't "think" in dates, Autodesk "thinks" in "fiscal quarters"... ;)

Because they took it down already.... =))

There was a 2013 link at the top of "Updates and Service Packs" section.

Pretty funny IMO.

Very funny, but the screenshot I showed came from an actual Autodesk webpage
(or rather from the Google Cache of that page), not from some cheap mockery...

Yeah, laugh it up, Montreal guys!
Maybe everyone around here should loosen up a bit, start learning and developing for a certain open source 3d tool, and stop caring for insignificant stuff like new SI features...
