@gustavoeb - If you're still able to read this: breathe in, breathe out (slowly)
Holding your breath for a prolonged period of time is generally a bad idea, except when immersed in water... :D

However, at the moment I am sat in Montreal with Mark, Siddarth, Nabe and Chinny and this very subject came up, so we'll see what we can do.
Oh wow, now I'm excited! Please show something soon! I can't wait... :ymdaydream:

Well, I don't think we need new feature preview videos as much as we need well-implemented new features themselves. But it would (somewhat) interest me, what has changed, making feature preview videos suddenly possible for the Softimage team, where this apparently wasn't in the (recent) past?
;)

Nothing's changed, generally it comes down to time and resource.

Very true, but from a subscriber's point of view, it would help in at least giving me a "vision" of what you guys are thinking and possibly heading towards; even if it is not promised or never surfaces...especially when writing the check.

It was explained (don't have a link) why Autodesk doesn't release info about their products beforehand or at least not some amount of time before release date. It's something to do with their business model which I didn't quite understand, but yeah, that is it and I accept it as valid.
On the other hand saying that's a matter of resources - while having the above explanation - that I don't think it's necessary and dare I say it isn't true either.
I'm not implying that it's an intended lie, but rather some words put in there in a hurry without too much thinking because of course resources influence everything, but as far as I know Autodesk has a lot more resources than many other SW companies which are making a lot of presentation videos about their products.
Personaly I don't care about videos.

the reason why Autodesk doesn't release specific details about future products and release dates, comes down to the fact that Autodesk is a public listed company. There are various business rules in place that restrict Autodesk in these areas. It's no big secret and there's information out there about the various rules and regulations, etc.

As for resources, well I tried to keep it simple, but often this is what it comes down to. For example, Mark, Chinny and myself, all work in different geos, for different people with different responsibilities and sometimes, despite really wanting to do some things, our time only seems to stretch so far. Which is why said in an earlier post, don't hold us to anything - gustavoeb breath easy, lol.

If you have resources, you have time, plain and simple.
Don't the hired guys have enough time? Hire one more. Or many more.

I don't want to get into a debate about how much time we have and resources.
Believe me it isn't that simple and neither is the case of just simply hiring more. If it was, then seriously, we would of done it.

You don't want to get into debates yet you have something to add also.
I'll let you have the last argument this time. Again. :)

I'm not sure the hang up on that one... I can sub out some good workers and a manager to get them in line to get things rolling on SI:

Of course you might need to get them up to speed on the project...eventually they will be productive =))
