ICE smoke particles

Post by David Brandt » 07 Feb 2014, 19:39

I'm just starting to use ICE and have a project I need to create wispy smoke trails. I'm using the cigarette smoke preset, because it is the only one.

The problem I'm getting is when I move the emitter objects fast, I get distinct puffs at each frame instead of a continuous stream. Perhaps the author of the preset was expecting the emitter to hold still.

How can I fix this? There must be a node for this, or a setting. It's seems like particles need to be emitted inbetween frames.

Thanks,

David

hi,
If you dig into the cigarette smoke compound you'll find a emit from geometry coumpound (brown)
On this one at the end of the PPG is a thick box who says "fast moving emitter" this would solve you problem.

Yup. that's what I was looking for. Seems so obvious now that I know it's there. Thanks so much!
