Well, the perception of what's expensive or not, is highly subjective. I'd agree that this plug-in isn't expensive, but I do understand that to some of us, especially in the happy Softimage world of so many high quality free plug-ins it might seem that way.
And BTW: even to me, already convinced of the necessity of the purchase, this purchase is one I must carefully consider financially, but I'm obviously a mere hobbyist. 8-} ;)

...that´s the point. So one could state: "too expensive to ME". That is absolutely OK. But just stating "expensive plugin" is nonsense in MY eyes. Those statements are worth- and pointless.

cheers

Well, I was just pointing out, that while the original poster's comment might have sounded silly, the reaction it provoked sounded a bit harsh too.
But don't mind me, I'm merely a moderator on this board :D

...well, I know Eric´s efforts very well to provide some high quality plugins like this to the SI users. He is an excellent and very smart programmer and delivers also great support. Stating "expensive" to his efforts and plugins makes ME angry, yes, that´s true X(

But, back to topic now ;)

Very nice work, Mathaeus..:!
Love the style and the design. Looks great!

cheers,
oliver

Most of the big underwater rocks in this spot were generated procedurally using particles, meshed with emPolygonizer, before being painted by the texture artist. A very versatile tool!

Great work and continued imporvements. Thanks, Eric!

No, it isn't expensive. Afterburn, fumefx, Krakatoa are expensive.
Eric's got great prices for his plugins.

Great work Eric, and defiantly not a expensive plugin very well priced and a free upgrade from version 1 to is very generous :)

Any chance you would like to elaborate on the destruction plugin you may or may not be making?

The destruction plugin I may or may not be making ( :D ) will be a tool to break up a mesh into pieces in a way that it can be used with all the existing rigid body dynamics stuff. The challenge is to actually make a tool that will give the user great control over how an object breaks and - of course - to have everything work at interactive speeds.
I foresee many, many liters of coffee in front of the computer ... ~o)

Take care :)

Excellent sound great, would that be ice based or would you be using the old dynamics?

Price is relative, and given that this an ICE compound, the amount of possibilities it opens are huge.

Each one of these "power nodes" extends the size of the sandbox greatly. The things show in the videos are just the beginning IMHO. Plus, if you even had one job that needed this plugin it would be a no brainer to get it- it's extremely affordable if looked at in that context.

I like that you're working on a fracturing set too- quite a lot you could do with that in ICE with object transformations etc. Very cool!

And I agree about the presentation, very nice. You've always had good, solid videos on your site, but these ones are bound to get people excited- even if they don't know what or why they'd want to use a mesher! Nice to see some Arnold renders too...

So, now you're working on that fracturing set and a voxel based shader set- Right?

Hi nassoy, how is that coming along, your stuff on vimeo looked really promising but you haven't posted much lately, last I heard you were trying to implement proper physx rigid bodies in ice, any luck?

the physx rigid bodies are ready but there are a few issues to solve.
fortunately i have also been working on a Bullet implementation during the
time i was frustrated with physx, so i cannot say at the moment which
one will make it in the final release.

Eric,

Great update.

Price for some may be a consideration. I hope before allowing it to be one that you check out out this or others that Eric has for SI and look at service and the support/updates made with a paid purchase.

Eric's products for SI have added value and his support/response to questions is top notch.

Salut Eric,

I saw you have used the "famous" Arnold Renderer, can you talk about it a little here ?

thanks
