New viewport capture tool

Post by junki » 19 Jun 2010, 06:58

Hello, Recently I've posted this on XSI base, but I thought I'd like to share it on si-community too.
It's viewport capture tool called "Capchan", basically re-organized UI for XSI's standard viewport capture with bunch of extra features.

Download Page:
http://homepage3.nifty.com/jjj/XSIFiles ... chan3.html

ImageImage

Show/hide by object type during capture
Show/hide by group name during capture
Show/hide viewport infomation during capture
Change background color during capture
Automatically create sequence folder
Automatically deselect the objects you selected during capture in case you don't want to see the transform manipulator in the captured image.
Capable of launching external players like VLC Player/DJV imaging/PDPlayer.
etc

Select "Capchan3Options" from Camera icon menu to open the PPG. At the first time you launch, PPG will be created under the scene root (you can move it to anywhere you like). Toolbar and XPOP command also provided.

Basic usage:
Create the PPG, set the options, then hit the large button on top of the PPG. Capture starts.
Hitting "Start Capchan!!" button on the toolbar starts the capture immediately (using the current settings in the PPG) without opening the PPG.
Selecting "Start Capchan!!" from the XPOP menu does the same thing.
Simple Capchan is the simplified version of the main PPG (for those who doesn't want to open the huge PPG), and the settings in it is saved separately from the main PPG.

You can find the document on the download page but it's in Japanese, and it doesn't even explaining everything about this tool. So please feel free to ask if you have any questions about how to use etc, and I'll answer here.

Also please let me know if you find any glitches. Suggestions are also welcome.

Welcome to our little community, junki...
It's a great little tool :-bd
(FYI: I had already started this thread about it,
but your explanation obviously is way better,
so pretend I didn't even mention it)
;)

Hi,

Ah, I didn't know that you've already introduced this tool here. Thanks.

By the way, I still don't have any bug reports/suggestions yet.
I'm wondering if it's even working or not on somebody's environment.
Feedback would be much appreciated. :)

Well, I haven't tried it extensively, :!!
but I tried it nonetheless & it seemed to work okay :-bd
I guess it's the kind of tool that probably will "grow" on it's users
(as many tools have to do, that seemingly do not differ all that much from factory-installed functionality)
Stay safe, sane & healthy!
