SItoA update 5.1.1.0 with Cryptomatte 2.0Author: Rachid Hadj Abderrahmane
Updated May 31st 2018 — Rachid makes the latest Arnold Renderer version available to Softimage users via updates/patches of the last SItoA release 4.1.0. That includes support for Cryptomatte, the new subsurface scattering method and the new toon shader as of Arnold 5.1. Since his distribution package does not contain any binary files, the Arnold SDK has to be downloaded and the patches applied manually following the detailed instructions he gives in the si-community thread / his posted walkthough video.

Cryptomatte is becoming an industry standard for ID based object/hierarchy selection in compositing (Nuke/Fusion plugins provided).

Introduced in this si-community thread. Latest update posted here Installation walkthrough video: SItoA Update Core 5 0 2 2 & Cryptomatte. A how-to video on how to use cryptomatte with the latest update can be found here: SItoA Update Core 5 1 1 0

Ah... Like that. I have to admit I just scanned the text on Operators at the time.

Yeah, I can imagine it would be quite a bit of work to implement in Softimage, as with 3dsMax the node editor in SI can only access materials and not objects directly afaik.
After looking at the docs again, I could imagine this could be some kind of override on a Pass/partition. That is as long as the filtering is done within the node, otherwise it's going to be quite a tricky thing to manage.
And I have no idea if you can re-link back to other Operators in the SI scene like this.

Maybe this could be used for inspiration:

Strangely operator graphs seem to be per scene not per pass (or similar concepts in other apps)

I've had some thought about this and I believe I have a way of adding Operators support to Passes in the Render-Tree. It's just an idea so far so I need to implement it first to see if it works or not.

We have just finalized SItoA 5.2.0 but we haven't tested it on Linux yet. Is anyone here using Linux and are willing to test it?
(Operator are not in this version but Arnold Denoiser (noice) is.)
