Lightwave 2015
Re: Lightwave 2015
"While others were basing their pipelines on clunky spline-patching workflows, LightWave artists were quickly and efficiently modeling with smooth subdivision surfaces interactively"
It would be great to know what these others are.

Well, it's always Newtek here... a lot of similarities with Autodesk ;-) a lot of xsi users were's Lightwave users and jumped of the ship...I remember well 2 events with them:
- when the main devs left (now the modo team) they wanted to start fresh make great tools because the codebase was outdated, but newtek said no too long.
- when the replacement dev team finally started to do the same, "lightwave next", but newtek again put an end on this! imagine if softimage xsi dev was stopped then develloppment was refocused on SI3D...

Re: Lightwave 2015
So true and there may have a potential with the next release but with such strange advertisement, I went sour...
Re: Lightwave 2015
I am locked in on the hardcore charter, which was £250 per major upgrade and long periods between upgrades, it has been good value, but this year its changed to every year now and they have added 19% tax. I am thinking of ditching the charter and only buying if the upgrades warrant it, as I bought Modo at the discount price of £600 recently and with the Foundry now in control I would like to think the future can only get better.
