I should point out that this is pre-alpha, and in all likelihood won't look much like this by the time we ship :) Lots more info as we get closer to Siggraph.

Let me just put here an idea concerning interface that i think is missed in ICE. Choose nodes by filtering input/ouput color. I only want an scalar that output to color i click in a green button and a red button ( i am using ICE colors) and just the nodes/compounds with that options appear.

Edit: thx Hirazi.

At this point the UI is just a placeholder - we're focused on some lower-level stuff at the moment. When we hit beta we will open it up to the Fabric list and start taking comments/feedback/requests. At Siggraph we'll be talking a lot about the underlying DFG (Data Flow Graph) and the relationship to KL and what that all means - then showing demos that hopefully help with understanding quite what is going on. This is a lot more than a visual programming system, but it's quite a challenge to explain it!

yes - pretty unequivocal requirement from our customers :)

edit: I should expand on this. Fabric is a platform, and we know that customers will want to change/specialise the visual programming system according to particular requirements.

For me, this is the most exciting thing to happen in cgi since Xsi.

I have a feeling that with this, I'm going to "power up" enormously in the next couple of years.

Can't wait to see more.
