Houdini Mograph

Or in some people have vision some don't...

Houdini Mograph
Published: March 28 for Houdini 12

Houdini is well known for being used to create massive visual effects shots which require the use of Particles and Dynamics. The purpose of this video is to show Houdini being used for creating something relatively different. Motion Graphics is a huge field, and because of Houdini's procedural nature, it is a great tool to creating various types of elements that can be used for motion graphics.

The inspiration for this video came from films like “Iron Man” and “Tron Legacy”, especially for the various UIs that can be seen in those films. The video, through a singular animation, will demonstrate how you can create the elements required to create such a User Interface. IT will also show how these elements can be animated using very few parameters so the user has the maximum amount of control over the animation without having to animate a massive number of parameters. Instructor Rohan Dahlvi, will also briefly cover how these elements can be rendered and composited.

Bold mine.
Maybe references to 2 films will make the Hollywood fetichists at Softimage look at something they think pedestrian like Motion Graphics?

Better to keep the Announcements section "clean", don't you think? That is Softimage related stuff only. :)

so who is keeping people from creating motion graphics in ice?
this seems much more a byproduct of Houdinis procedural nature, then development/marketing strategie... and I also bet it is a lot more complicated then c4d for the avarage joe

True but it is a bit more difficult than it should be. But my main point was just to stress that Motion Graphics is everywhere. Even in Hollywood.

Nothing stops creating motion graphics in ice, is just as (slightly easier) than houdini, but who needs complexity (in effort and time) nowadays?

Since C4D mograph has spoiled(?) users into expecting easy operation with great results.

+1 with Bullit, its more and more prevalent, just as infographics.
